Count before you price.
Most underpriced jobs come from a duct run nobody walked. Before you quote a new
kitchen, look at the whole system, not just the hood over the line.
- Hoods: how many, how long, and whether filters are baffle or mesh.
- Duct: horizontal feet, vertical floors, and whether access panels exist on the long runs.
- Fans: upblast or inline, and whether the roof needs a ladder, a hatch or a lift.
- Grease load and hours: a charbroiler running 18 hours a day needs more visits.
- Hours you can work: after close, weekends, and how far the crew drives.
Price the year, not the visit
The quote shows the price per visit and per year. A quarterly kitchen is four visits,
and the yearly number is what a GM or owner compares between contractors.
